Double Chocolate Chip Frappuccino

Double Chocolate Chip FrappuccinoOh you need to make this easy decadent treat for the chocolate lover in your life!  Its you?  You’re the chocolate lover in your life?  Well then get to it!  Make yourself a Double Chocolate Chip Frappuccino STAT!

Double Chocolate Chip FrappuccinoI have a confession.  This is not my recipe.  It’s my sons.  He loves the chocolatey chip frozen drink at our local coffee shop, but his mean ol momma isn’t usually willing to fork over five bucks for a drink that will be consumed in five seconds!   So my son (the second one known by most as Luke, and by some as….well I’d better not say he might get embarrassed)  used his ingenuity and figured out how to make his favorite drink at home  and now he whips up double chocolate chips frappuccinos anytime he wants!  He will even whip one up for is sibs if they say please.

Double Chocolate Chip FrappuccinoThe best news about this drink is you probably have everything on hand.  I used whole milk, but if you only  have skim, 1%, or 2% that will work too!  Chocolate chips check, ice check, vanilla extract check, chocolate syrup check, sugar check, milk check there you go everything you need to make you and some one near and dear a lovely frothy creamy chocolatey drink!  On top of saving myself a few bucks I feel better about making my kiddos a fru-fru drink at home because I can control the sugar and I know I’m adding real milk not some imitation “milk drink” with lots of unnecessary additives.  It’s an all around great treat!

Double Chocolate Chip FrappuccinoWe live in Michigan where the winters are fierce and the temperatures most days below zero so usually a hot steaming drink would make more sense, but not to my kids.  They would prefer a frozen frothy drink anytime of the year!

3 tablespoons Chocolate Syrup
Mini Chocolate Chips for garnish (optional)

This would be a very fun drink to whip up for the younger folk at your holiday party this year, a dollop of whip cream on top a sprinkle of crushed candy cane Voila!  The perfect kid friendly holiday drink!

Enjoy!
Sheila

Shiela~ I want one NOW!!! That looks so good!! I’ll have to serve these up at the Christmas Eve Open House for the kids, and the chocolate lovers, yep, that’s me. I’m thinking a splash of coffee would be mm mm good. Not for the kids though, they have enough energy for crying out loud. 🙂
