Minny's Chocolate Pie

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups Sugar
  • 1/3 cup coco powder
  • 4 tbsp Butter melted
  • 3 whole Eggs
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 pie crust see ingredients list for the link to how to make pie crust, or you can use a pre-made store bought crust
  • Whipped Cream see recipe below

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Roll out pie dough, lay in pie plate and crimp the edges.
  • In a mixing bowl combine sugar, eggs, cocoa, melted butter, evaporated milk, vanilla, and salt. Whip until smooth. Pour into pie crust.
  • For easier transport set pie dish on a baking sheet and place in preheated oven. Bake for 45-50 minutes. The center should have slight jiggle. The filling will set as it cools.
  • Remove from oven, place on wire cooling wrack, allow to cool completely before serving with whipped topping. If you have any leftovers store them in the refrigerator.
  • Whipped Cream: 1 cup of whipping cream, 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, and a dash of vanilla whipped with a mixer until stiff peaks form.
