Basil Citrus Sangria

Equipment

  • 1 large glass pitcher
  • 1 wooden spoon or long handled spatula

Ingredients
  

  • 1 bottle Pinot Grigio or White Table Wine
  • 1/4 cup brandy
  • 1/2 cup Basil leaves cut into thin strips and then measured
  • 1 Lemon sliced thin
  • 1 Lime sliced thin
  • 1 Orange sliced thin
  • 24 ounce sparkling citrus water
  • strawberries for garnish
  • mint leaves for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Chill the wine and the soda. Slice citrus as thin as possible, place in a pitcher with basil pour in brandy and muddle together with a wooden spoon, add wine and blood orange soda, chill until ready to serve. Fish out a few pieces of fruit, place fruit in glass with ice, pour sangria over ice, ENJOY!

Notes

I love Sanpellegrino, an Italian sparkling drink with lemon or orange flavor, as a fizzy topper for this sangria. However, it is sometimes hard for me to find, so my second choice is Spindrift sparkling water, and my third choice is Fresca.
