Pizza Sauce

Simple pizza sauce comes together quickly with ingredients you have in your pantry.

Equipment

  • 1 large sauce pan 6 quart

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes more or less to your taste
  • 3 28 ounce cans crushed tomatoes
  • 1 12 ounce can tomato paste
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar you can cut this in half if you prefer, but I would not eliminate

Instructions
 

  • -over medium heat add olive oil to sauce pan allow to warm up, about 1 minute
    -add finely minced garlic, and red pepper flakes, cook for 30 seconds you do bot want garlic to even get brown, just warmed up
    -add in tomato paste, and cans of crushed tomatoes stir to combine
    -add sugar and salt.
    -bring to a boil and reduce heat to low, or very low. allow to simmer for 1 hour stirring occasionally.
    -taste and add more salt if you feel it needs it.
  • Cool, and use for pizzas.
    If making ahead, cool, and store in a mason jar(s) for up to 2 weeks.
