Bertolli ~ Italy is served! & $100 gift card GIVEAWAY

Nothing is more important for my husband and me than gathering our family together around the dinner table.  You know how much I love to cook, however, dinner time can be a challenge.   My husband’s busy schedule, three teens, and a tween means I need to get creative with how I actually make this happen.

IMG_0256Bertolli Pappardella Bolognese ~ authentic Italian

Sometimes this means we eat leftovers, or we eat out (we love to eat out), but the long waits and expense of our family eating out keeps us from doing this very often! Bertolli new frozen meals are the perfect alternative, and they offer tons of amazing choices: pasta, skillet meals, soups, and even dessert! Take a peek at all the choices Bertolli has to offer on their website. I’m drooling just thinking of the Lobster Ravioli.  We enjoyed the Pappardella Bolognese – it is pure comfort food!

Which Bertolli meal would you most like to try?

I served this meal to my oldest son and my husband, the rest of us had eaten and they had come home late.  I tossed Bertolli’s Pappardelle Bolognese in a skillet, cooked it for 12 minutes and Voila!  Dinner was served. IMG_0238 True story…Ken did not see how I made his meal, he just swooped in the door, sat down, and scarfed down his dinner.  Later that night, in bed, he said, “Man that dinner was good…I thought you had a busy day, when did you have time to make that?  You’re going to have to add that recipe to our regular meal rotation.”  I said, “You are not going to believe this.  That was a frozen meal that I was asked to write about for Bertolli.”  He could not believe it!  He was right, it was seriously that good.  The pasta was perfect, the sauce was not salty and over seasoned, it was scrumptious, and I will definitely keep these meals on hand for those busy days when I just do not have time to get a home-cooked meal on the table. I love that Bertolli offers me the choice of making my family a quick easy meal that is just as delicious as any Italian restaurant in town; what’s better is that we can enjoy it in the comfort of our home, on our time.  When my family gets in a rut of not getting around the table together…excuse my language, but things start to go to hell in a hand basket!!  We need to reconnect with a delicious hot meal, then all is right again in our universe.  And, if that means I need to call in Bertolli reinforcements then so be it.  I’ll be like Mrs. Doubtfire hiding the packaging in the trash and splashing sauce on the front of me, so my family thinks I slaved over making them dinner! šŸ˜‰ IMG_0254 When the kids were little… Every once in a while, instead of getting a baby sitter to go out, we would feed the kids dinner, go about our nightly routine, and after the kids were in bed, Ken would go to a local Italian restaurant and bring home take-out. I would have the table all set and we would have a nice quiet meal, just the two of us! I wish Bertolli freezer meals would have been available back then!  Bertolli’s sumptuous skillet meals and restaurant-inspired dinners are equally as delicious as any restaurant meal. Add a quick salad and a glass of wine…VOILA! Sounds like a great date night to me, only thing missing is dessert. No problem. Bertolli also offers authentic desserts that can be found in the freezer section of your grocery store.  Bertolli desserts are the perfect ending to a great meal, especially with choices like Tiramisu (my husband’s favorite), Triple Chocolate Strata Cake, Lemoncello, and Cappuccino Strata Cake (this would be my choice!). Visit Bertolli’s website and Facebook page to see all the new flavors and varieties of meals!  I stood in the freezer aisle for way too long trying to decide which one to try first!

Bertolli is giving away a $100 gift card to one of you!! GIVEAWAY details: All you need to do is tell me in the comments below which Bertolli dish you’d like to try first.  It’s as easy as that.  One winner will be chosen. Bertolli asked me to review their new frozen restaurant quality single and multiple serving authentic Italian meals. I want you to know that all opinions are 100% honest and my own.
